The APTI is built on the Association for Play Therapy (APT) model and reflects the same scope, mission, and status as a non-profit association.What is herein reported reflects the APT guidelines published on the website www.a4pt.org.

Scope
The Association for Play Therapy (APT) is a national professional society based in Italy and with main offices Rome.

Mission
Our mission is to promote the value of play, play therapy, and credentialed play therapists. To accomplish this mission, APTI will advance the psychosocial development and mental health of all people by sponsoring and supporting those programs, services, and related activities that promote:

Public understanding and appreciation of play and play therapy
Effective practice of play therapy through research, education and training, and support
Recognition, incorporation, and preservation of diversity in play and play therapy
Development and maintenance of a strong professional organization to carry out this mission

Status
APTI is incorporated as a nonprofit Italian association.

Finances
APTI funds its programs and operations from two sources:

Dues paid voluntarily by its members
Fees paid by member and non-member users of its conference, credentialing, and other programs.
